Home home at last...

Well we've actually have been home since last Thursday! But well we are trying to get into a routine, and I'm having to learn how to wake up every three hours again to feed a baby ( to be honest I suck at it, and I'm so thankful I have a wonderful husband, because well I would miss the 3 and 6 am feedings). I'm so very happy to have him home and to be able to do normal or some what normal things when a newborn! I had forgot that newborns don't really do much at all!

I'm very please to have already finished the announcement cards and I've got them ordered! So friends check your mail boxes and if I don't have your address and you want one, well then I'll need your address, duh!

So here's a few photos from our first day at home, all unedited because well I just want to post this and go hold my baby! BTW sitter is just over the moon about her little brother she is so very PROUD of him and for about the first hour that we were home and he was in his crib she just watched over him, and well that's all she wants to do now! She wakes up in the morning and runs in our room, mom is J up... get him out of his bassinet I want to see him!!!!

Two Weeks

So my baby has officially been in the NICU for two weeks, yap he's two weeks old now and still has not been home. But we are hoping that he will get to come home soon! Let me break down these past two weeks since its changed just about every day!

July 8th - 11:02 he was born
July 9th - 2am was put in NICU and put on cpap
July 10th- His lungs were full of fluid and his right lung collapsed
July 11th- I had to leave the hospital with out him, and he was INTUBATED
July 12th- Right lung was doing better and starting to expand
July 13th- they started to ween his oxygen down
July 14th- They got him all they way down to 84% oxygen, we breath 21% so that was great
-Slowed his sedation down from every four hours to every 12
- First feeding of 5 mL breast milk
- Big sister got to touch him for the first time, and the first time we were all in the room as a family of four!
July 15th- I was able to hold him for the first time since he had been in there!
July 16th- VENT IS GONE! Back on cpap :/ First bath, yes his very first bath!
July 17th- More alert
July 18th- CPAPS GONE!!! now just a nasal cannula, no more feeding tube he gets a bottle now!
- Out of warming bed and into normal hospital bassinet
July 19th- Increased feeding to every 3 hours still just 5 mL, and another bath!
July 20th- Increased the amount of food
July 21st- Took out the nasal cannula, Put the feeding tube BACK in to help him out on every other feeding. And I got
mastitis so I'm banned from the hospital until I dont run fever for 24 hours!
July 22nd- Speech came to make sure he wasn't having tongue problems, and he doesn't so he just gets really tired when
eating (WHAT MAN DOESNT) They started to add extra calories to his milk and he's now at 1.5oz ever three
hours!

And in between all of that we've also had to keep L happy but she has not really taken well to being dropped off every were, and it's really sad when we get in the car and she ask are you going to drop me off? But we know it will end soon and things will be MUCH better! But we have been so blessed to have such great friends and family to help out with L! So thanks to everyone who has helped keep her in these past weeks!

Change of plans!

Well Tuesday morning I started to have contractions they weren't that close so I waited and went on about my day did the laundry, cleaned up, played with L and what not, and about 5pm they were STRONG and close, my husbands been crazy busy at work and I couldn't get a hold of him so I had a fantastic friend who's a nurse and has plenty of experience in L&D and she brought me up to the hospital (that's were my husband works, so everything worked out) and I had progressed since my appointment the day before and I was shortly admitted. Our son was born at 11:02 and it was bittersweet. We were so very happy to see him and meet him but he was having a lot of trouble breathing so we didn't get to hold him until he was two hours old, and then we only were able to hold him for maybe 45 minutes and they thought maybe they could get him stable.

Today is Thursday, and we've been on a roller coaster! when they moved him to nicu Wednesday morning he started doing a little better an then in a few short hours that night things went down, and they chose to intubate him this morning and so far he is doing good with that. We have no idea when we will be able to hold him again or even bring him home! My heart is breaking seeing my baby laying there and not being able to do anything for him he's so very sweet already. I do have a fantastic doctor who has made it possible for me to stay one more night in the hospital, even though I really should be going home since I'm doing so well! I know he's in Gods hands and we are so very thankful for the fact that we are in the hospital we are in, not only does my husband know most of people, but they have one of the best nicu's in Texas! I'll have more photo's to share as soon as I can get to my other computer, I wasn't paying attention when I took photos of him that I was shooting in raw, and this computer does not have my work flow on it! So these are from right when he was born!

His day is coming!

Well I've been pregnant for 38 weeks now, and although I do love it, I'm getting slightly tired of being uncomfortable and the back pain and the hiccups on the bladder! My fantastic doctor has decided to evict my child from the only home he's know for the last nine months and he should be joining us in ten days unless I have him before next thursday! I'm so very excited I can't wait to meet him and hold him and just love all over him, at the same time I'm slightly nervous since I'm so used to a little girl a new born little boy is going to be SO different and I think just the fact that I know that much will be help enough. So we are all awaiting his arrival and well be super happy to add him to our family!

pool party for one!

It's hot, I'm way done being pregnant so I have no desire to leave my house and go out in public were I have to deal with people and get in and out of the car and well its hot outside have I told you that yet? Just because I would be happy laying around doing nothing for the next week doesn't mean that my AMOST three year old is, oh no she gets very bored and well things happen when she gets bored not fun thing. So I thought this morning I would suck it up and get out her little pool and she could play in that, and thats what we did and she had a BLAST I mean I thought she might have gotten lonely in there by her self but no happy as she could be and well I got to sit in the shade and take photos which I shot all in RAW today. Anyways this is what I got and I told her we could go outside in the water every day if she wanted, in a way it give me quite time, no phones, computer, tv's just a little girl laughing and trying to splash the dogs!
