My excitement soon turned to fear...once I plugged it up! I already had stacks of things I wanted to make but to start out it was going to be a practice run on doll clothes for L's American Girl babies! Using scrap fabric I made a rough pattern. When I went to serge them I used the colorful thread that came already loaded in my machine! I watched the video's that came with it and thought I was ready... not so much! On my lovely sewing machine I don't have to use a presser foot it's a push button start so I had to learn that all over and well I have a lead foot! One thing I didn;t know about the sergers is that is also cuts the fabric!
I started and finished the doll clothes, and was ready to move on. I've been wanting to make L a Market Skirt I love Dana's blog so I went for it! First job to re-thread the machine with all white thread... I watched the how to video should be semi easy right? WRONG it took me almost two hours to load all four threads, it took me just a little over an hour to sew the skirt and about 30 minutes for the pockets. I LOVE this shirt and I plan to make MANY more its so easy and super cute!
Oh yea I also found a way to make my own labels!
All serged seams... no raw edges!

And now with her dolls' Ethan and Pilly!
